The 5G Summit will take place in Trento, Italy, on March 6, 2018. It will be the first time the event is organized in Italy.
Wind3 will make a presentation of the 5G CITY project during the event at the University of Trento. The contribution it will be: “5G CITY: Use Cases for Smart Cities to improve the 5G ecosystem using a strong partnership between industrial and research area ”
IEEE 5G Summits are organized by IEEE Communication Society within a strategic framework based on the principles that embrace Industry’s interests and priorities, while integrating IEEE and ComSoc’s objectives. In order to engage industry members with high value and innovative technologies, IEEE Communication Society plans to hold a series of high impact one day Summits in emerging technology areas (e.g., SDN/NFV, 5G, IoT, Big Data, and Cybersecurity). IEEE Communications Society recently started a series of 5G Summits in North America. The First IEEE 5G Princeton Summit was held at Princeton University on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
It was the first one in the series. Princeton 5G summit was followed by Toronto 5G Summit on November 14, 2015 and Silicon Valley 5G Summit on November 16, 2015. Most recent IEEE 5G Summits include Austin, Dresden, Tianjin, Berlin, Seattle and Delhi.
These one day summits will provide a platform for the industry leaders, innovators, and researchers from the industry and academic community to collaborate and exchange ideas in this emerging technology that may help in driving the standards and rapid deployment.
